Email – getting started

To receive emails using your domain name and webspace, you have to establish one or both of the following:

– Email forwarding. With this method, you can forward emails sent to an address at your domain to some other account, such as a googlemail account, yahoo account, or an account provided by your ISP. The advantages of this method are that it is simple, you do not have to set up Outlook or any other email client. Emails are forwarded immediately, so do not use up your webspace disk space allocation . Disadvantage is that when you reply to a forwarded email, the reply comes from your other account, googlemail, yahoo or ISP account.

– Email account. With this method you create an email account on your domain and can use it to send or receive emails. When you set up the account, you specify a maximum amount of disk space the email account can use. If the email account uses up its disk allocation further emails will be rejected.

NB. In combination with a gmail account, we can help you establish a link from your email account so that you can receive and send emails using your gmail account. Contact us for help with this.
