Census assistant

If you have UK or USA census data, the best way to add this is as a shared note, this method helps you add the census data to the “Personal Facts” of each individual in the census, instructions can be found here (opens in new window).

Googlemap

It is possible to link all your place names to locations on GoogleMap, instructions can be found here (opens in new window). If you’re planning to do this then it makes sense to have your place names consistent, for example don’t have “”Vic., Australia” on some records and “Victoria, Australia” on others. The webtrees application has a batch update tool that can help achieve this consistency, for example you could change all occurences of “Vic., Australia” to “Victoria, Australia” in one operation.
